bare - The Movie

bare, the movie is in the works from Tony nominated producers Hillary Butorac Weaver and Janet Billig Rich and Tony nominated director Kristin Hanggi at the helm.  Hanggi was the original director of the musical and adapted the screenplay for the film.

The film is adapted from bare: A Pop Opera  - a rock musical with a book by Jon Hartmere, Jr. and Damon Intrabartolo, lyrics by Hartmere and music by Intrabartolo.  The story focuses on two gay high school students and their struggles at their private, Catholic boarding school and has inspired the LGBTQ community since its inception in 2000.

The creative team is currently looking for bare testimonials of what the piece has meant to its fans. Producers are asking lovers of the musical to self-record 1 minute pieces of their personal experience with the show, its score and its story. You can help by submitting here!
